The Great Cooperative of the Jarepatitava was founded in 2060 when several Cooperatives of the Jarepatitava merged together. Since then, it has developed into the greatest and most powerful Great Cooperative of the entire history of the Sum of Living Space.
The head of the executive is the First One of the Great Cooperative (the Quamdalakim), along with the First Council (the First Ones of the Lesser Interstellar Organizational Units). The legislative is formed by the Great Council (consisting of the First Ones of Inhabited Systems and Annexes).
The Great Cooperative features a strong principle of subsidiarity, giving the First One or the First Council only the power to decide over topics concerning the whole Cooperative.
The constitution of the Great Cooperative is the Fundamental Treaty of Omtat Siat as laid down first in 2060. Since then, the Treaty has been extended and modified to meet new demands. The framework for all laws is defined by the Fundamental Treaty, which are then laid down in a distinguished form.
The judiciary branch is made up by the Mediators. It is their task to interpret, guard and apply the rules of the Fundamental Treaty as well as the laws based upon the Treaty. They serve as lawyers and judges, either in civil, penal or public law. Every Organizational Unit of the Great Cooperative has its own staff of mediators, with higher mediators serving as an court of appeal up to the highest institutions. On higher levels, mediators are divided into Member Mediators (civil law) and Treaty Mediators (penal / public law).
The Kadath serve as a sort of state religion / state philosophy, based roughly on the principles of Haturatism. The Kadath' task is to regard daily politics / daily life from a greater perspective and to reflect on existence of the Great Cooperative as such.
Almost all of the members of the GCJ are Jarepatitava. About half of the members lives on planetary surfaces, mostly within Inhabited Systems, while the other half lives on stellar installations. As of 2610, only a tiny faction of the members live outside the Great Cooperative.
At habitable surfaces, almost all of the population lives within Compact Cities, with the rural areas being left to wilderness.
The Great Cooperative itself is the highest Dalhadred (organizational unit) within the Cooperative Hierarchy.
The Great Cooperative of the Jarepatitava is the sum of all Organizational Units, therefore the datquampaksavetha, from quam, what cannot be enlarged.
The Great Cooperative is headed by the Quamdalakim, which is appointed and might be relieved by the First Council.
The Great Cooperative as such only has precedence in topics that concern the whole Great Cooperative.
The GC may declare war, negotiate and agree to peace. During times of war, the First One will be the Chief-in-Command of all Great Cooperative Armed Forces.
The GC may negotiate and sign treaties with foreign nations and enforce adherence to these treaties.
The GC has a right to a certain share of resources of Organizational Units directly attached to her, as negotiated with every unit. It may allow the units to keep them, reallocate them to other units or even keep them for her own purposes (although this will most likely not be tolerated). It may also demand more production from attached units or lower the demands.
The organizational units of the Great Cooperative may give whatever powers and tasks they wish to the Great Cooperative as such; some organizational units smaller than the second largest may be attached to the Great Cooperative directly (like the Thoran Inhabited System).
The Great Cooperative as such has some assets that belong to herself and are tolerated by the lower units:
As a special asset, the Great Cooperative may hold back a certain amount of all resources delivered to her by the attached Organizational Unit as a strategic reserve.
